The stars lean down to kiss you

This is my new favorite thing:
It’s an organization dedicated to selling handicrafts from places in the world that don’t offer sustainable employment; therefore, it is a fair trade company. The name is taken from a Mahatma Ghandi quote, “…India is not to be found in its few cities but in the 700,000 villages…we have hardly ever paused to inquire if these folks get sufficient to eat and clothe themselves with.”
Now, I had heard about Ten Thousand Villages from several of my coworkers before, but I had no idea they had an online shop! Since I am addicted to online shopping (oh geez), I checked it out right away once I found out. And I’m looking forward to visiting one of their shops in Brookline or Cambridge once it gets nicer out.
Here is what I purchased:
Leaf Capiz Earrings: $12

Ceramic Leaf Candleholders: $3.50

Delicate Dangle Necklace: $7
I can’t wait to receive these in the mail! And my money is going to support people in underprivileged countries, who make these beautiful things for a living.
